Thunderbrook Hay Flakes are a high-quality forage alternative, rich in natural fibre to promote healthy digestion and well-being. Designed especially for senior horses and those with dental challenges, these flakes soften quickly, making them easy to chew and digest. Unlike many soaked feeds, they require only 5 minutes in cold water – no need for warm water or long waiting times!

100% Meadow grasses and herbs (hot air-dried, pelletised).

Analytical Constituents

Crude Protein 8.0%, Crude fat 3.1%, Crude Fibre 29.0%, Crude Ash 7.1%, Sugar, 9.7%, Starch, 0.8%, Calcium 0.5%, Phosphorus 0.2%, Sodium 0.02%, Fructan 6.7%,  ME 6.80MJ/kg.

The analysed values are of native origin. 

The analysed sugar value is also of wholly native origin. No added artificial sugars. 

Feeding Guidelines

Pair with Thunderbrook Daily Essentials or another appropriate balancer to ensure your horse receives a complete daily supply of vitamins and minerals. 

As a complete forage replacement: Approx. 1.5 kg per 100 kg of target body weight per day 
To supplement existing forage: 1 kg replaces 1 kg of hay

Bodyweight 300 kg

As a complete forage replacement: 3-6 kg
As a partial forage replacement: 1-3 kg
To supplement existing forage: 0.3-1 kg

Bodyweight 600 kg

As a complete forage replacement: 6-12 kg
As a partial forage replacement: 2-6 kg
To supplement existing forage: 0.6-2 kg 

Thunderbrook Hay Flakes must be soaked before feeding. Soaked: mix 1 part of Hay Flakes with 2 parts water. Let the product soak for approx 5 minutes to form a soft mash.

A standard measuring scoop (1.5 L) holds approx. 580 g of Thunderbrook Hay Flakes
